新野 彰子

I obtained my BA in Journalism from Sophia University in 2004. I earned my MA in Creative Writing from Birkbeck College, the University of London, in 2021. I returned to Japan in 2022. I used to teach the English language at a university in Japan. I am now living in the Kobe area.

I self-published my novel Pinku no Ame* (“Pink Rain”) in Japan in 2009. I wrote this novel based on my experience of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake that occurred in 1995. Since then, I have not published my work. However, several years ago, I translated the novel from Japanese into English, which ignited my passion for studying creative writing in the UK. That is why I left for the UK and earned a master’s degree from the University of London. I am a member of Writers in Kyoto.
